Americas’ agenda for Alabama

MONTGOMERY, Ala.  (February 23, 2024) –The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

(EPA) announced over $82 million from President Biden’s Investing in America agenda

for Alabama drinking water and clean water infrastructure upgrades. The funding is part

of the over $50 billion investment in water infrastructure upgrades from President Biden’s

Bipartisan Infrastructure Law – the largest such investment in American history. Today’s

announcement will support essential water infrastructure that protects public health and

treasured water bodies across the state.

Biden-Harris Administration Announces Over $31 Million Investment into Lower Mississippi

Delta and Alabama Black Belt Regions The 34 new investment projects will improve basic

public infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, and flood control in communities across

DRA’s region. These projects are projected to create or retain 1,400 jobs and affect nearly

12,300 families

across Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Missouri through

the Community Infrastructure Fund (CIF). Funding for this program was made available, in
