What have Alabama Republicans done for voters and residents of this great state?

On May 10^th 2021, Governor Kay Ivey Announces End of Participation in All Federal

Pandemic Unemployment Compensation Programs 82 days before they were suppose

to expire; which was to end Sept. 6^th 2021. Her Reason; “As Alabama’s economy

continues its recovery, Governor Kay Ivey explained, we are hearing from more

and more business owners and employers that it is increasingly difficult to find

workers to fill available jobs, even though job openings are abundant,” said Governor

Ivey. “Among other factors, increased unemployment assistance, which was meant

to be a short-term relief program during emergency related shutdowns, is now

contributing to a labor shortage that is compromising the continuation of Alabama’s

recovery.”

Abortion

In 2019, the state enacted a near-total abortion ban called the Human Life Protection

Act. It is one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the U.S. Alabama’s 2019 abortion

ban, which prohibits all abortions unless medically necessary to avoid a serious health

risk to the pregnant woman, became effective after Dobbs. There are no exceptions

for cases involving rape, incest, or human trafficking.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — A federal court in Alabama issued a ruling allowing Alabama

health care providers to continue their lawsuit aimed at preventing Attorney General

Steve Marshall and district attorneys throughout the state from prosecuting those

who assist Alabamians seeking to travel across state lines to access legal abortion care

Attorney General Marshall explicitly threatened they could face felony charges for

supporting patients in accessing legal out-of-state care.

We’re going to have a situation where people being able to get care for their infertility

is going to be so much harder in Alabama, and not because we’re putting more

protections in place, because the way the court has decided the status of a fertilized egg.

Alabama Republicans spark another legal fight by not creating 2nd majority-Black

district, a group of lawmakers who are blatantly disregarding not just the Voting

Rights Act, but a decision from the U.S. Supreme Court and a court order from

the three-judge district court, A critic called it a “slap in the face” to Black

Alabamians and the court.

The question is what are the voters going to do this November?
